Twenty years ago, there was no way to integrate non-IBM computer systems with existing IBM mainframes and networks. So Russ formed Teubner & Associates to develop software that made using computers easier and more compatible. His firm prospered and eventually he merged the company with another.

In 2000, he started another software company, HostBridge Technology. In just six months after its formation, HostBridge went global by selling a license of its software to a major Italian bank.

Russ Teubner could live anywhere. He could pursue his dreams anywhere. But he chose Oklahoma. In his own words:
