New Rock ‘n’ Roll Exhibit Now Open at the Oklahoma History Center
May 15, 2009 – "Another Hot Oklahoma Night", a new rock ‘n' roll exhibit at the Oklahoma History Center, is now open to the public.
Some of the exhibits include the harvest-gold jumpsuit worn by Tulsa's Leon Russell in 1974, a drum kit played by Jim Keltner during Bob Dylan's 1981 "Shot of Love" tour, and an interactive video exhibit featuring the early rockabilly acts Wanda Jackson and the Collins Kids, according to the Tulsa World.
"I think it's showing that people are coming to the realization that the one thing that everyone has in common is music. No matter what tribe or ethnicity you are, music is what brings us together," says Chase Kirby of The City Lives to the Tulsa World.
The exhibits also feature newer Oklahoma born and bred acts including the All American Rejects and Hanson. |
